Solaris is another one of our beautiful Cycas daughters, with a 'rags to riches' story.  She was sold as a kid, bought back as a dry yearling, sent to a neighbor's dairy at 1 1/2, and brought back home at 2 1/2 to start her show career - and she did it with a bang!  She is the type of doe we are striving for, being large with a long, correct frame and an exceptional mammary system - and lots of milk!

Solaris was not brought to the Nationals this year.  We felt she wasn't looking quite as good as she did in Indianapolis.  After having a family friend and Appraiser stop by, he made the comment that she should have been there.  We decided to take her out for the last couple shows of the summer, and she was Best Doe In Show under Jeff Klein at the Michigan State Fair, and Best In Show at our last show of the season.  She is just a timeless, beautiful doe.

Tory is a carbon copy of her dam, Thyme.  She is a tall, dairy doe with a long, smoothly blended body and excellent general appearance.  Her mammary system is well attached both fore and rear and she stands on strong feet and legs.  Tory has so many strong points that she is the type of doe you just can't help but notice.  Along with a good show career, Tory has produced two permanent champion daughters with the same high standards.  We can't wait to see what her next daughters do!  Tory is now retired from the show ring.

Tory is having a well-deserved year off.

Madison is a real pretty doe.  She is a deep-bodied doe that is smoothly blended and has a level topline with a wide, flat rump.  Her mammary system has an exceptionally wide rear udder, a smooth, long foreudder, and teats with proper shape, size and placement.  Madison is a herd favorite, being very easy going, an excellent milker, and a joy to work with.  She's had an excellent show record, but has been retired from showing for the last few years to stay home and provide us with beautiful daughters! (Look for them in our sales list)  You will like what you see!

Trista lives up to the rest of her maternal siblings.  She was simply outstanding as a yearling and has continued on as a strong contender.  Her mammary system is near ideal being superbly attached with near perfect teat placement. Trista has good depth of body and is smoothly blended.  She has better rear leg angulation than her sisters and has a wide, level rump.  If there was something I would change about her, I would give her a little more length.  We feel that this doe and her maternal siblings are the backbone of our herd and share in some of the success we've had.

Trista came out last year at the Nationals and was first place 5 yr. old, and 1st Place Produce, and was part of our 1st Place Dairy Herd.  She is, and continues to be, a very valuable asset to our herd!

Tressa is our last precious daughter of our Thyme.  She has lots of general appearance, and is built very solidly.  Her chest floor is very wide and it is carried back through to her hocks.  She has a high, wide rear udder and a smooth, well extended foreudder.  Her teats are of nice size and shape and are correctly placed.  We feel Tressa and her sister, Trista, have the best mammary systems that we have ever produced.  Tressa seemed to be a show stopper from the moment she was born.  At the 2004 National Show in Harrisburg, she was Reserve National Champion Recorded Grade Jr. Doe and went on to freshen the next spring with the type of udder that you can only hope for.

She has continued on with her show success and has produced two lovely daughters in our herd with super mammary systems.  Both of her milking daughters have finished their championships this summer and we look forward to freshening her dry daughters in 2010!  She deserves a gold metal for showing and producing daughters as good as, or better than herself!

Her fall breeding to Sentinel should be a great one!

Vizzion was a new addition to Tyler's Recorded Grade herd in 2006.  She is a smooth-bodied doe that has a beautiful udder.  She possesses some of the qualities we would like to entwine in our herd.  Vizzion was 2nd place in the Yearling Milker class at the Nationals in 2006, and her dam, Sizzle, was the 2006 Reserve Grand Champion to our doe, Solaris.  Together, Vizzion and Sizzle won the Dam and Daughter class.  We thank Cindy for allowing us to purchase such a fine doe.

Vizzion had an outstanding year in 2008, topping the 3 yr. old class at the Nationals, and was also part of our 1st Place Dairy Herd.  She came on even stronger this year going 3 times Best In Show and many times Best of Breed.

Lucy is a tall, powerful, large framed doe that stands on an exceptional set of feet and legs.  She has a level topline and a wide, flat rump.  Her mammary system is well attached with the longest foreudder in the herd.  She is very mature doe and most of the judges comment about her impressive size.  We feel she is true to her maternal side with all her size and strength of feet and legs.  Lucy won last year's Michigan All Breed 2 Year Old Futurity.  We feel this was quite an accomplishment with all the competition.  Lucy started to go light on one side at the end of June, so wasn't shown during the summer.  But...look for this girl at the National Show in 2010!! (We think she'll be the frontrunner!)

Solitaire is a flashy, tall, long bodied, dairy doe.  She has a high, wide rear udder and a fore that is smoothly blended.  Her long dairy neck blends into sharp withers and a level topline.  Solitaire is so dairy and milks so well that our biggest challenge is to get her into show shape for the summer season.

We feel Solitaire looked exceptional after freshening this spring.  She has filled out in the body and has even more overall strength.  Her doe kid, Solice, is one of my picks of the kid crop.  She excels in the style and correctness that we're striving for.  Solitaire will be bred to Zane - they should be an excellent cross.

Sonoma is easily one of the largest kids born on the farm.  She has always been a mature-looking doe, and was quick to finish her championship.  She has tremendous width from her chest to her hocks and is very deep-bodied.  Her feet and legs are strong and she has a well attached udder that is very smoothly blended.

Sonoma was 3rd place in the 2 yr. old Michigan All Breed Futurity, only standing behind her own 2 herdmates.  She will be bred to Up and this should produce an incredible animal.

When Solice was born, my comment was "Wow"!  She is one of the most correct kids we have ever had born on the farm.  Adventure and Solitaire made a great cross, taking the best features from both genetic lines.  Solice was taken out late in the season because of being one of the last kids born, and was quick to go GCH and was even a high contender for Best In Show.  Solice will be kept dry for the 2010 Nationals.
