Cyclone is a beautiful buck that we purchased from Kastdemur's Dairy Goats.  We have admired his dam, Citra, for several years and talked with Karen about ordering a buck from her at the Nationals in 2004.  He is everything we had hoped for, with his powerful frame and long, level topline.  Cyclone had an injury to his front leg which caused him some problems this past winter.  We hope to collect him this fall, and will see how he handles this year's winter weather.  We love the length, size and power Cyclone produces, and the correctness in his lines.  His dam, Citra, is very structurally sound and is a real reproducer, and has additionally had many class wins at the National level.  Cyclone's littermate, Civi, has finished her championship for us this season, and is also a very balanced and correct animal.  Along with such a fine dam, we love the animals behind his sire, Deviant.  Diva, his paternal granddam,is an awesome doe in her own right, and has the similar lines that we have been working with, and has many wins to her credit.  One of Cyclone's first-freshening daughters, Lucy, has finished her championship as a yearling.  We love our Cyclone daughters - be sure to check out Lucy, Tawny, Mya, Mia and Cammy!

Spartan was offered to us by Karen after our original order couldn't be filled.  We feel it was fate that we ended up with him instead of the buck we had originally picked.  Karen suggested Spartan because she knows we like animals with lots of length and size.  He has all of this and more.  His feet and legs are excellent and he is sharp and angular throughout.  Slice, his dam, is one of the largest does in Karen's herd, and has had quite a show career winning National Sr. Champion Lamancha in 2005.  She appraised an impressive overall 93, along with an outstanding milk record.  His sire, Citron, produced the 1st place Jr. Get at the 2005 Nationals.  We feel Spartan produces a dairy doe that is overall correct and has a well attached mammary system.  His daughters are some of the best we have had and we will continue to use him over the next couple years.  He ties in well with our One*Oak*Hill lines and has proven to be a very valuable buck.

Dec., 2009 - Unfortunately Spartan sustained a fatal injury.  We consider this a huge loss, but are even more grateful for his daughters in our herd.  After this kidding season, Spartan will be moved over to the 'Reference' page.

Up is simply unbelievable.  He is the tallest, longest buck buck I have ever owned.  We traded with Karen this spring and couldn't be happier with this guy.  He is sharp and clean boned with excellent feet and legs.  He has beautiful leg angulation, has good width throughout and is flashy to boot!  His dam, Up Yours, is stunning and, in my opinion, is one of the prettiest and most correct does around (not to mention she is BIG!).  His sire, Toronto, is pretty impressive himself, and has sired some beautiful animals.

Up's first freshening daughters have done very well.  His daughter, Surri, earned 2 milking legs and both her and Tansey scored well on Linear Appraisal.

Cycas is a beautiful, long-bodied buck with excellent feet and legs.  He possesses tons of dairy character and general appearance with his board level topline and long, sleek neck.  His pedigree combines some of the most influential animals in the country and we feel he has made a great impact in our herd.  His dry stock have been quite impressive and after freshening his first milking daughters, we were more than pleased with the results.  All of his progeny are similar in type, with long, level bodies, strong feet and legs, along with having lots of width from their chest to their hocks.  The mammary systems are strongly attached with adequate capacity.  Cycas' daughters have shown exceptionally well with several finished daughters and many others with legs.  He also had a good showing at the Nationals in the past years, with his milking daughters taking 3rd place Milking Get of Sire two years in a row.  We are proud of what this buck has done for us and thank John and Eric for allowing us to have owned such a great herd sire.

Zephyr is a large stylish young buck out of our champion, Jamica.  He is a sharp and angular buck, with a long, level topline and strong feet and legs.  He has exceptional size for his age and reminds us of his sire, Talon.  Zephyr was used quite heavily last year to combine some of our favorite lines and double up on some great genetics.  His kids are stylish, growthy and smooth-bodied, with high, wide escutcheons and sound feet and legs.  We can't wait to freshen them this spring.  We expect correction on teat placement, width to the rear udder and overall size.

Talon was a littermate brother to Toluca, our 4 year old LaMancha that placed 4th at the Nationals in Pueblo in 2002, and 5th place Aged Doe in Des Moines and Harrisburg.  Like his sister, Talon excelled in general appearance; he had excellent feet and legs, and was very upstanding.  His linear scores are an impressive EEE with an overall 90.  Talon has reproduced these qualities in his offspring, and has seven or more permanent champion daughters to date and several with champion legs.  We have used Talon heavily in our breeding program and love what he has produced.  Talon was used as a reference because he is in so many of our pedigrees.

Triton was purchased from the Hoy family in Washington.  We admired their buck, Kareem, and had wanted to add his lines to our breeding program.  The Lucky Star herd is very uniform and that is something every herd should strive for.  Triton seems to fit into this profile.  He is on medium size, stature, and bone and has quite a correct type head.  His escutcheon is high and wide and he stands on sound feet and legs.  Triton's dam, Prismea, finished her Championship last summer and scored quite high on linear appraisal.  She has an excellent udder, which is common in her line.  We are happy with Triton's first kid crop and can't wait until they freshen this spring!  Our favorite Triton daughter,Tyra, is quite a beauty and had an awesome season with several Best in Show wins.  Thank you Don and Judy for sharing some of your fine genetics with us.  Triton was sold to our good friends, Matt and Deanna Bennet, but will still be used some in our breeding program.

Sirius was leased last year from the Gosnell Family, to bring in some outside lines that produce some of the same type animals we admire and strive for.  Sirius is a tall buck with strong feet and legs.  He is dairy and has a level topline.  His dam, Eclipse, was Reserve National Jr. champion in 2004, and her dam, Surata, was 2x National LaMancha Champion.  Eclipse is an extremely tall, long-bodied doe with excellent feet and legs.  She hasn't been shown because of damage to her udder from a case of mastitis that she contracted shortly after her first freshening.  We feel if this wouldn't have happened, she would have had a great show career.  Brigand, on Sirius' sire side, is noted for throwing awesome feet and legs.  Venus speaks for herself with all her milk, rear udder, dairy character and unbeatable general appearance.  We felt this buck would add stature, and he has.  His first daughters are lovely and very uniform.  They are some of the most stylish kids we have ever had and can't wait to freshen them next spring.  If their udders look as good as their bodies, look out in 2008!

Tirade is extremely upstanding in the front end.  He is a tall buck that is sharp in the withers, clean boned and has lots of dairy character.  His feet and legs are strong and he is level over the topline.  We feel Tirade improves front ends, adds size and rear udder attachment, as well as increasing milk production.  His sire, Jansen died from complications from a snake bite, but left behind some nice daughters that will be up and coming in the years to come.  Tirade's dam, Tirza, finished her championship last summer and was one of the most dairy type does in our herd.  She was one of our heaviest milkers and had an excellent rear udder.  We are very happy with his first milking daughters and will use him quite a bit this fall.  His daughter, Strait, finished her championship and was the star of our 2007 show string (another daughter, Jada, needs only one leg to finish).  Watch this young buck - we feel he will make his mark in the goat world!

Archer was ordered from Olentangy Alpines at the National show in Iowa in 2003.  We had seen his dam there and admired her in the herd.  Mark has a high quality herd of Alpines that we have liked for years since we showed with him in Ohio.  One of our best show and brood does, Money, was purchased from him several years back.  We decided to bring in a buck who had a pedigree close to her lines, that would work well with our does.  Archer was just what we were looking for.  He is a sharp and clean framed buck, with a deep body, strong angular legs and good width throughout.  He has a lot of style which I feel Mark's animals are known for.  Archer's dam, Tsavolite, is an awesome doe that has beautiful general appearance and has a near perfect udder.  We felt this buck would give us the style and dairyness we are wanting in some of our does, along with adding to the beautiful udders we already have!  Archer's dry stock has been quite impressive, and we are very excited to see his first crop of milking does this spring.  Archer's does have long dairy bodies with lots of leg under them.  It took them a while to fill out their frames, but we feel they will only get better and better.  Archer's doe, Loona, was Grand Champion several times this summer and Best Doe in Show twice.  Thank you Mark, for selling us such a fine buck.

We've made the difficult decision to allow Archer to move on.  He's made a huge impact on our herd, and we're confident that he'll do the same for another herd!

Cozy was also purchased from Willow Run.  We always wanted something related to Malachite and we were delighted when Billy recommended Cozy to us.  She is a soundly built doe that is very uphill and level over the topline and rump.  Her body is smoothly blended and she is strong on her feet and legs.  Cozy has a well attached mammary system with a smooth fore and a high, wide, rear udder.  Before coming to us, they only attempted to show Cozy once bringing her to Harrisburg, but she didn't take her first show well and was scratched.  Cozy adjusted to our herd well and had a good show season.  She finished her championship in 2005 with a show record of 3x 1st, 2x 2nd, 3x 3rd, 2x 4th and 3x GCH.  She freshened last spring with a single buck and had some local complications that set her back on milk production.  We didn't show her at the Nationals because she looked a little stale, but even with a limited show season she still did well going Best of Breed twice.  Additionally, she appraised an impressive EVEE 92.  We had hoped to bring her out his year, but she aborted and we didn't want to rebreed and have her freshen so late in the season.  Cozy is a very exciting doe and we have high hopes for the 2008 Nationals.  Her breeding to Spartan will be a repeat.  The buck kid was outstanding and we would like a copy!

Cozy will be taking the year off.

Rhema is a family favorite.  She reminds us of her dam, Renae, who we lost last spring (but remains near in our hearts).  Her body is long and level and she stands on a strong set of feet and legs.  She is a first freshening 2 yr. old that has a well attached mammary system, both fore and rear.  We would like to see more capacity to her udder, but feel this will come with another freshening.  Rhema has such strong maternal and paternal lines that we feel she will shine in 2006.  This season she was somewhat overshadowed by her 2nd freshening stable mates, but she should give them a run for their money next summer!  Rhema was 2x 2nd and 3 every other time out in the show ring, right behind Marmalade and Tempra.

Jostle is of medium size and stature having a long, smoothly blended body and a tightly attached udder.  She is one of the most balanced does in our herd, being very evenly proportioned with good depth of body and an adequate capacity to her mammary system.  We feel a kid from Jostle would make anyone a nice addition to their show string or breeding program.  Jostle comes from a very dependable line noted for their great mammary systems and ability to reproduce.  We feel Jostle has already shown us her ability by producing several beautiful daughters.  Her daughter, Jubilee, belongs to the Gosnell family and was 7th place milking yearling at the Nationals in 2002, and 9th place 2 yr old in Des Moines.  Jostles daughter, Jamaica, the littermate to Jubilee, was retained in our own herd and has quite a show record herself, placing 9th at the Nationals last summer and going Best Doe in Show two times this season.  Both does are also finished champions.  Jostle was 11th place 4 yr. old at the Nationals in 2003 and was also part of the 1st place Senior Get of Sire.  Jostle was last appraised at 4 yr. with a score of VVEE 90.  She now resides with a family friend and this will be my last kidding I get from her.

Jrupent is a very flashy, eye-catching doe that oozes of style, and is the type of animal that stands out in the crowd.  She is a tall doe with a long, level topline and a large, deep frame.  Her mammary system is awesome, having a perfect fore that is extremely long, and a very high rear udder.  Jrupent was undefeated as a yearling and came on just as strong as a 2 yr. old, finishing her championship and placing 6th at the Nationals in Pueblo.  Just when we thought she couldn't do any better, Jrupent came out in 2003 and topped the 3 yr. old class of 60 in Des Moines, and won Best LaMancha Udder in Show!  She was also part of the 1st place Sr. Get of Sire.  Her season in 2004 was also strong, placing 5th at the Nationals (we truly thought she deserved better) and numerous Best of Breed, Best in Show and Best Udder in Show awards.  Jrupent appraised EEEE 92 on her linear scores a couple days after the Nationals in 2004.  She was only shown a limited number of times in 2005 due to an udder inflammation, and still garnered several Best of Breed wins.

The last two years have not been productive for Jrupent with a bad kidding in 2007, and reabsorbing her kids last year.  We are going to make one last attempt for a successful late spring kidding.  Jrupent still looks great at 9 years old, so we have our fingers crossed!

Tirza is a very dairy type doe that is sharp and angular throughout with lots of milk production.  She has a capacious, well attached mammary system (an exceptionally pretty rear udder).  Her son, Tirade, is our Sr. herdsire and exhibits a lot of the same dairy qualities.  Tirza had a good season in 2004 placing 6th at the Nationals over the rest of our 3 yr. olds and appraising VEEE 90.  Last years show season went exceptionally well with Tirza finishing her championship, going 2x GCH, 3x RGCH, and Best Uddered LaMancha at our state show.  She came on just as strong this year finishing her championship and appraised EEEE 91.  Tirza is a real easy doe to have around.  She handles well and is always the same.  She is a good show doe and an excellent brood doe.  Her son, Tirade, has thrown some excellent daughters and will be used again this season.  Her daughter, Tyra, out of Triton, is just beautiful, making the cut at the Nationals and standing 1st at our State Fair.  Another daughter, Treeza, was 1st place out of a huge class at the 2006 Nationals.  We feel her breeding with Cyclone his season should also be quite complimentary!

Jada is a flashy, loud colored doe.  Her frame is taller and longer than her dam's, but she maintains Jazz's dairyness and high, wide rear udder.  Several judges this summer complimented us on Jada's beautiful rear udder and correct teat size and placement (Jada also has excellent texture).  Jada has been very competitive for the past couple years, winning numerous championships and several Best Udder in Show awards.  She was also 8th place 3 yr. old at the 2008 Nationals, and her daughter, Jitter, was 3rd place Jr. Kid.

After a struggle with a foot abscess, Jada has not been able to return to our show string.  We feel she is still a valued member of our herd as a productive brood doe.  Her 2010 daughters out of Spartan are beautiful and we feel her upcoming breeding to Medaillon should be outstanding!

Venus was added to our herd from Willow Run.  We admired her at the Nationals in Harrisburg and were lucky enough to get the opportunity to purchase her when the Dean's sold out.  Venus is the type of doe that stands out in the herd.  She has a wild color pattern and a great personality.  Her body style is very dairy; she is sharp in the withers, has a long, level topline, strong pasterns, and a capacious, well attached mammary system.  Venus has an exceptional rear udder and teat placement, but could use a little more foreudder extension.  When we purchased Venus, she was already a finished champion and had placed 3rd at the Nationals in Harrisburg.  Venus has continued to show well, going several times Best of Breed and Best Doe in Show.  She appraised EEEE 92 in 2007, and we feel this doe is an incredibly strong producer.

Sett is the tallest of our does, and possibly the tallest of all our LaManchas.  She is very long bodied and is sharp and clean throughout.  Her style is similar in type to her dam's and she has the same pretty rear leg angulation.  Sett has a well attached udder that has just bloomed with each lactation.  Her teat placement has improved and her foreudder is long and smooth.  We love this doe and feel she just gets better with age.  Some judges find her to be extreme and don't know what to do with her.  However, she had a good show season, finishing her championship and placing 5th at the Nationals in the 3 yr. old class.  She also was 1st place Dam & Daughter with her lovely daughter, Sunny Day.  She is exactly the type of doe that we breed for.

This past spring she freshened with a single buck kid, and didn't come into as much milk as she normally does, so consequently had limited showing.  We're looking forward to having her back out in 2012 in great shape!

Congratulations to Sett - she was the 1st place 2 yr. old 2009 All Breed Futurity Winner!

Trista lives up to the rest of her maternal siblings.  She was simply outstanding as a yearling and has continued on as a strong contender.  Her mammary system is near ideal being superbly attached with near perfect teat placement. Trista has good depth of body and is smoothly blended.  She has better rear leg angulation than her sisters and has a wide, level rump.  If there was something I would change about her, I would give her a little more length.  We feel that this doe and her maternal siblings are the backbone of our herd and share in some of the success we've had.

Trista came out in 2009 for the National Show and was first place 5 yr. old, 1st Place Produce, and was part of our 1st Place Dairy Herd. She had a good showing at this year's Nationals.  We're really hoping for a doe year next spring, since Trista has only had bucks for the past few years.  Even so, she is, and continues to be, a very valuable asset to our herd!

Taudry is a doe that excels in general appearance.  The first thing you notice about her is her long, level topline and level, flat rump.  She is smoothly blended throughout, especially in the shoulder assembly.  Her overall structure is very correct and her mammary system is snugly attached.  She has lots of eye appeal.  Taudry was competitive as a first freshening 2 yr. old in 2004, placing 12th at the Nationals, and placing 1st four out of seven times shown, and never placing lower than 4th.  We felt that another freshening would even make her more competitive, and it did.  She was one of our stars in 2005 with numerous 1st's and 2nd's, 5x GCH, 2x RGCH, 5x Best of Breed and 4x Best Doe in Show wins.  Last season started out a little rough after a bad kidding, but she bounced back and came on just as strong appraising EEEE 91 and going Best Doe in Show at her first show out.  Unfortunately, she had a skin reaction to wasp bites and was not up to par at the Nationals, but still made the cut placing 18th in a large class.  After having 2007 off, Taudry is back to herself and we will be looking forward to taking her out in 2008 as an aged doe.

Antimony was an exceptionally large, flashy doe that oozed of style and grace.  She had tremendous depth and length to her body and a very capacious, well-attached mammary system.  Her udder was globular in shape with a strong medial and teats of proper size and shape.  Money finished her championship in 2001 with quite an impressive show record.  Since 2002, we have limited the amount she has been shown so we could concentrate on some of the other does.  In 2003, she was only shown a few times, going GCH in July, RGCH in August, 1st place Aged doe and Best Uddered Alpine at our State Fair, and finished the season going Best Doe in Show.  Money was also lineared in 2003 scoring an impressive EEEE 91.  We didn't show her in 2004 because of a slight mastitis problem due to an oversight on my part and a kidding with quads that took it's toll on her.  Money was pulled out of retirement this summer after kidding in June and brought to our State Fair where she was GCH, Best of Breed, Best Uddered Alpine and Best Doe in Show.  I feel Money is the type of doe we are looking for in our Alpine breeding program.  She has produced this similar type and style in her offspring and we are excited to watch her daughter mature in our herd.  Money kidded this season with triplet bucks which will be working in three quality Alpine breeders program's this fall.  With much sadness, we put Money down late this summer and miss her dearly.  She lives on through her beautiful daughter, Alera

Thyme was the matriarch of our herd.  She was my personal favorite and was an invaluable asset to our herd.  Her show career has been a great one with numerous Grand Champion, Best of Breed, and Best in Show wins.  Fame started for Thyme as a yearling milker when she almost finished her permanent championship, and continued on with her most current wins at our 2002 state fair.  Thyme maintained a strong show record along with being our second highest producing doe (behind her own daughter), in spite of the fact that she suffered from gangrene mastitis several years ago.  She was a hearty, large framed doe with a long, level topline and beautiful flat rump.  Her mammary system was very capacious with excellent attachment, being smooth in the fore and high and wide in the rear.  Thyme's best quality of all was her ability to reproduce herself with beautiful daughters of the same type and style (look for them on the Recorded Grades page, and you'll be impressed!).  Sadly, Thyme was put down last fall, before winter.  She is greatly missed as a friend, and was the type of goat you only breed once in a lifetime.  Truly, she was special in so many ways.  You'll notice her consistent, beautiful daughters and granddaughters throughout this site.

Civi is my son Tyler's doe.  She was purchased from Karen and Krista in 2006.  Her dam, Citra, has always been my favorite doe in the Kastdemur herd, and we were excited to have the chance to get a daughter from her.  Civi is the littermate to our buck, Cyclone; she is so correct that it is hard to fault her.  Her feet and legs are very strong and her body is smoothly blended, balanced and correct.  We love her mammary system; it is snuggly attached both fore and rear, with plumb teats of proper size and shape.  The only thing we think Civi needs is to fill out, which seems to be coming with more freshenings (she's a bit immature yet).  Civi finished her championship in 2007 and has been GCH and Best of Breed numerous times since finishing.

Sonoma is easily one of the largest kids born on the farm.  She has always been a mature-looking doe, and was quick to finish her championship.  She has tremendous width from her chest to her hocks and is very deep-bodied.  Her feet and legs are strong and she has a well attached udder that is very smoothly blended.  She freshened just before the National Show so she was not able to make the trip.  She still was able to get out a couple times during the show season and was able to win her classes.

Sonoma was 3rd place in the 2 yr. old Michigan All Breed Futurity, only standing behind her own 2 herdmates.

Vienna was added to the herd last spring when Chad and Carrie Ringkvist decided to down size their herd.  They knew we've always loved Vienna and offered her to us before putting the word out that she would be for sale.

Vienna is extremely tall and long.  She has a well attached udder with excellent teat placement and stands on a good set of feet and legs.  She had a good show season and even blessed us with twin does last year.  This year, Vienna has some problems after freshening.  We decided to dry her off and get her into shape.  We feel she is back to her normal self, and have bred her to Session for spring.  Vienna has proven herself to be a really valuable brood.  She has blessed us with some excellent offspring and look forward to seeing what her breeding to Session produces.

Lydia is a powerful doe with lots of width from her chest to her hocks.  She is level over the topline and has a wide, flat rump.  Her mammary system is high and wide in the rear with an outstanding foreudder.  Lydia could use some smoothing out in the shoulder area, but is very strong in the other aspects of the score card.  All this and she milks well too!

Lydia is an easy breeder and is notorious for having triplets.  We sometimes give our older does a season off and haven't made up our minds as to whether or not this is Lydia's year off.

Jamica is a special doe to us.  She is my son Tyler's showmanship doe, and is just an easy type doe to have around.  Jamica is a smoothly blended doe, with tremendous width from her chest to her hocks and has an incredible wide, flat rump.  She has strong feet and legs with correct overall body conformation.  Her mammary system is nicely attached both fore and rear with excellent size and placement of teats.  Jamica finished her championship in 2003 and was part of our Milking Get at the Nationals.  She came out even stronger in 2004 placing 9th at the Nationals and going 3x Best Doe in Show.  Jamica was only shown a limited amount in 2005 and 2006 due to focusing on some of our other does, but was Grand Champion, Best of Breed and Best in Show several times.  We are very excited about last year's doe and her offspring.  Jamica's son, Sorcerer, has already made his mark and another son, Zephyr, had his first freshening daughters last spring that were beautiful.  Along with nice bucks, Jamica has also produced several beautiful daughters in other herds as well as my own herd.

Solaris is another one of our beautiful Cycas daughters, with a 'rags to riches' story.  She was sold as a kid, bought back as a dry yearling, sent to a neighbor's dairy at 1 1/2, and brought back home at 2 1/2 to start her show career - and she did it with a bang!  She is the type of doe we are striving for, being large with a long, correct frame and an exceptional mammary system - and lots of milk!

Solaris sustained a shoulder injury this past spring.  We continue to feel that she is just a timeless, beautiful doe, but at this point we are undecided about breeding her this fall.

Solitaire is a flashy, tall, long bodied, dairy doe.  She has a high, wide rear udder and a fore that is smoothly blended.  Her long dairy neck blends into sharp withers and a level topline.  Solitaire is so dairy and milks so well that our biggest challenge is to get her into show shape for the summer season.

Solitaire had a difficult, single kidding, and ending up having a c-section last year.  After a good recovery she still was able to make the Nationals and ended the show season with a good record (part of our Dairy Herd and Best 3 Females).  Solitaire's daughter, Solice, was National Champion Dry Doe, and it's appearing that she is sure to follow in her family's footsteps!

This spring, Solitaire suffered a cracked elbow, and had to be taken off the show string.  We don't know if she will be able to go on the road again, but is a valuable member of our herd for her milk production, and as an excellent brood doe.  Solitaire's daughter, Solice, was 3rd place at the Nationals in the 2 yr. old class as a first freshener.  We were very proud of this doe's accomplishments and feel she will continue to have a long show career.

Madison is a real pretty doe.  She is a deep-bodied doe that is smoothly blended and has a level topline with a wide, flat rump.  Her mammary system has an exceptionally wide rear udder, a smooth, long foreudder, and teats with proper shape, size and placement.  Madison is a herd favorite, being very easy going, an excellent milker, and a joy to work with.  She's had an excellent show record, but has been retired from showing for the last few years to stay home and provide us with beautiful daughters! (Look for them in our sales list)  You will like what you see!

Madison kidded this year with two beautiful doe kids.  We feel breeding her every other year is best for a doe of her age.  She continues to be a 'slam-dunk' producer of doe kids though, and each one of them is highly valued.
